Fluence BESS field hub (depot EVSE boundary)
Fluence (and similar) BESS on depots feed or buffer EVSE. Most "charger down" tickets here are inhibits and energy limits, not bad CCS guns. Your job is boundary control and a clean handoff to BESS/fire specialists.
Ownership
- EVSE tech: confirm whether stalls died together; capture OCPP; verify site voltage; do not open battery racks.
- BESS ops / OEM: cells, PCS internals, balance, thermal events.
- Fire contractor: FACP alarms and fire inhibits.
- Electrician: feeders, transformers, UPS controls power.
Ranked patterns
- SOC floor / UV under simultaneous ramp — energy management, not module RMA. Entries: BESS-SOC, BESS-UV.
- Fire / interlock open — walk the chain; never jumper. BESS-FIRE, BESS-INT.
- EMS comms loss — OT network; respect failsafe. BESS-COM.
- PCS fault / OV / imbalance / thermal — specialist. BESS-PCS, BESS-OV, BESS-BAL, BESS-THERM.

BESS-UVFluence / BESS · BESSFree sampleBESS undervoltage at cabinet
Fluence BESS reports an undervoltage (UV) inhibit at the EVSE feed — either the PCS AC output or the shared DC bus — so dependent chargers brown out mid-session or latch Faulted while the BESS HMI independently alarms UV. It shows up most on hot afternoons when several dispensers ramp together and SOC is already drawn down from an overnight fleet pull, so the first minutes of triage are about proving whether the EVSE is really broken or the depot just asked for more than the BESS could deliver at that SOC.
